Christ Church, Warkworth
This is the largest church in our parish, and was built in 1876. It will seat 120 guests, but seating can be reorganized and added to if required for a larger number, up to 150. There is also room for a marquee if one is required. It also has an organ which provides music for a grand entrance and exit if required, as well as music during the service.
St. Leonard’s Church, Matakana
St. Leonard’s is a Gothic revival timber church built 1914. It will seat 50-80 guests. It can accommodate an overflow outside, but the weather needs to be favourable. There is no adjacent hall, but Matakana boast a number of suitable reception venues.
St. Michael and All Angels, Leigh
St Michael and All Angels, Leigh, was built 1915, and is a small Gothic revival timber church. It will seat 50-60 guests comfortably, but there is little room and ability to cater for extra guests, though the lawns are of a generous size.
St. Alban’s Church, Kaipara Flats
St. Alban’s was built in 1964. It will seat 50 guests. It can accommodate an overflow outside, but the weather needs to be favourable. The Kaipara Flats hall is just down the road a short distance.
Please note that the seating capacity is finite. If you believe that you will need more seats than the indicated capacity, then we are unfortunately unable to help you.
Established in 1875, Warkworth Cemetery, at 8 Bennett Street, Warkworth, is open for the interment of ashes and also burials. Since 2017 the cemetery has been open for non-parishioners as well as parishioners.
Kourawhero Cemetery, also known as Old Kaipara Road Cemetery, was established around 1860, as the churchyard of St Clement's Church. The churchyard was retained when the church was moved in 1919, and although the surrounding land was sold to a neighbouring farmer in 1964, the original cemetery remains open for the interment of ashes.
