An Anglican Community:

Sharing the Love of God

Welcome

Kia ora!  Welcome to the Warkworth Anglican Parish.  We are a church community spread out around Warkworth, down the Mahurangi Peninsula and along the Matakana Coast.

We want to say thank you for stopping by.  On this site you can find out a little about who we are, what we believe and what we do.  There are five churches in our Parish and you can find details about their Services here.

If you are visiting, you are very welcome - check out our Visitors page for more information.  And if you do have any questions, feel free to email our Parish Office or our Vicar (Peter Jenkins).

At its simplest, we are a group of people from all ages, stages and walks of life who believe in and want to follow Jesus while growing in God’s love.  We aren’t perfect but hopefully we are a community where people can belong - and maybe have some fun, carry some trials and share some joy together.

Visitors

We know that visiting or coming to a church for the first time might feel a little odd or even intimidating.  Please know that everyone is welcome to any of our services - whether you are committed, looking or just plain curious you are invited to join us as we sing, read and pray.  Yes, you can just come in!

In the meantime, here you can find an explanation about Our Worship and details of our Services.  And in About Us there is information about who we are, what we believe and more about our parish.  For details on what is happening check out our News & Events page.  Finally, check out our page for kids and youth to see what we are up to.

We believe that in Jesus we encounter the unconditional love of God for everyone.  Whoever you are, you are welcome here!

Services

Our regular Sunday services are every Sunday at Christ Church, Warkworth (9.30am) and also at St Leonard's, Matakana (9.30am).  We also hold services at Leigh, Snells Beach and Kaipara Flats once a month as well as various mid-week services.

Please see our Services page for more details of when and where our services are held.

Who we are

The Warkworth Anglican Parish has been part of the communities of Warkworth, Rodney, Mahurangi, Matakana and Leigh for over 150 years.  We are people from all walks of life living in these communities who have been drawn together by the love of God and the desire to follow Jesus.  You might simply say that we are Jesus people: it is Jesus who brings us together and it is his love and his grace that inspires us.

As a Church, we aspire to be:

As with all Christians, we believe that we are called to join with God in his mission and outreach to his world.  In particular, we understand that our mission is: to proclaim the good news of God’s Kingdom; to make disciples; to work for justice and peace; to care for creation; and to strive for reconciliation and healing in a broken world.

Our vision is simple, it is to share the Love of God.  You can read more about what we believe as Christians and Anglicans in About Us, and also see how we are involved in our local community.
